Simple-- Konad Stamping

Konad Stamper m57

These nails were super easy, and look really elegant!!

I used two coats of Sally Hansen "Sweet Talker" and my Konad stamping plate (m57) with the special white polish.

I love these stamping plates because they are SO easy to use, and they always create delicate designs that look very intricate. One thing to consider with the Konad stamping plates is that you MUST work quickly... the polish dries really fast, and the design won't stick to the stamper or your nails if you don't work quickly.

Having said that, you also have to be precise. For instance these criss-crossing lines are really easy to mess up if you're hurrying through it... but they dry so quickly you basically have to rush. As a result, many of my lines are overlapping. BUT overall the design worked out really well! This is my second time playing around with this design, and it's much better this time!!

United States Navy Nails :)

US Navy inspired nails

This Monday is Memorial Day, it's a time to spend with family and friends and be thankful for their company... But it is also a time to reflect on the sacrifices that others have made. My grandpa was in the US Navy, so he was my inspiration for today's nails!! Thank you Pop-Pop for your service!

I used classic red, white, and blue colors... with some gold, grey, black thrown in for the design details.

I think these are the best anchors I've done so far! The key is to make sure the bottom is really rounded, otherwise it turns out looking like a the gender sign for a boy! Not good. I think I nailed it this time... pun intended :)

On my thumbs I put the neckerchief part of the Navy uniform.

Enjoy your Memorial Day, and remember the ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Geometric Fun!

Here's an easy geometric design. I got the shapes by using a large dotting tool. This is another design inspired by Simply Rins! She used a light and dark purple and it looks great!

I choose to use light and dark pinks! Orly "Lollipop" and Nina Ultra Pro "Violet It Ride." These are definitely two colors I love to use any chance I can!! :)

Try it for yourself!! :)

Subtle Summer Flowers

Subtle Summer Flowers
I was inspired by a more bold version of this summer flower nail art. Check out Simply Rins nail art she has some wonderful designs!

I used Loreal "Orange you Jealous" & China Glaze "Peachy Keen," two colors perfect for the start of summer!

I experimented with different numbers of petals, and I definitely think more is better, five or six gives you a full looking flower. The flowers with four petals look like a sun beam or something... oh well :)

Try it for yourself! :)

Graduation!

I am finally a graduate... Four years flies by! I decorated my cap to reflect my love for food!! I'm a Food, Nutrition and Dietetics major, so food is kind of my thing ;) **It says foodie in case that's unclear.

Braided Nails

Braided hair is easy and fun for summer, and braided nail art is fun for summer too!! A fellow nail art friend did these for me when we had a much needed nail date :)
On a side note... I got a new camera for graduation!! Canon Rebel T3, so hopefully my blog pictures will be getting better! ;)

Essie--Go Ginza

Essie "go ginza"

Feel in love with this color from Essie! It's called "go ginza," it's a light purple or maybe a light pink? Not really sure which... but who cares it's great!
Keepin' it simple, cause my graduation nails are next! I'm not sure what to do for that yet!!!!

Pre-Graduation Nails!!!

I am a mere 5 days from being a college GRADUATE  of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. I'm a pretty sentimental person... so I'm trying to enjoy a few more days of purple/yellow nail art while it's not to cliche ;)

I used a Konad stamper (plate M57) for the black cheetah print.

Finishing this step in my life feels surreal, but oh so good :)

Black Tie Optional (Hard Candy Crystal Polish)

Black Tie Optional

Sometimes I don't feel very artsy, so glitter polishes are a great way to achieve a really simple nail art look! I used the new Hard Candy Crystal polish called "Black Tie Optional" over Nina Ultra Pro "Punki Pink."

Water Spotted Mani

Yesterday I tried out a water spotted mani! It's pretty easy and very similar to doing water marble nails! For a tutorial see Spotted Water Mani! You can use any color for this mani. To get the ripping effect I used a perfume spray, but you can use other products to get the same effect!
I used another technique to get the water color marbling effect (see Watercolor Spotted Nails
Try it out for yourself! It's fun and versatile!
