July 4th Nails-- Stripes and Bows

Happy (almost) Birthday America. I thought this design was perfect for July 4th! Since I will be out of town for the week, I needed to go ahead and post them!!

The design started off this way... Even though this is simple, this could be a pretty cool design by itself!

The blue is Wet and Wild "Saved by the Blue," the white is Nina Ultra Pro "French White," and I used a couple striping polishes.

I first saw this design on pintrest. Visit Dressed Up Nails for her blog post! She did a really good job on the bows.

Have a happy July 4th! And make sure you have your nails covered for this holiday!

Mocha Rouge-- Vera Bradley Nails

I love these!! Yet another Vera Bradley "nailspiration." This is the print called "Mocha Rouge," easily one of my favorite prints! Actually. . . I have the wallet, and it's great.

Here's my color pallet. I think it's pretty dead on! The pinks are China Glaze "Purple Panic (Neon)" and Orly  "Cotton Candy." The brown is Revlon "Stormy" I LOVE this color! Whenever I do my friends nails a lot of times I end up using this color!

I cut my nails back. They get to a certain point and I get so annoyed by the length. I've had this design on for a few days and the chipping has been minimal, which is pretty good for me. So I think the length of my nails plays a part in that!

Ignore my cuticles, I don't know what the deal is!!

This design isn't as hard to accomplish as it looks! I always start with the base coat of course, then the light pink, white, dark pink, and then outline most of the flowers with a black striping brush.

Enjoy my VB design! I'm not sure if I will be doing anymore anytime soon! Some of the other designs I've tried haven't turned out as good.

TBT Vintage Roses

One of my most favorite designs to do is the vintage rose pattern! It's easy and always turns out so pretty! You can use almost any colors too!

Happy "throw-back thursday!"

Rainbow Gradient Squared

Rainbow Gradient Squared

This was inspired by a YouTube tutorial from Cutepolish (Rainbow Ombre). The squares were just for some added fun. This mani is crazy bright! Pretty cool for summer, but not really my style. I'm really loving doing gradients though!!

Colors used: white striping brush, Nina Ultra Pro "French White," China Glaze "Flip-Flop Fantasy," Nina Ultra Pro "Solar Flare," Sinful Colors "Why Not," and a black striping brush.

Hearts and Stripes Mani

Heart and stripes
This mani speaks for itself. All the colors are used on the thumb in stripes, and the heart adds some fun. This was inspired by a pedicure I saw on Pintrest... I don't know the artists name but here's the link (sorry it's in Japanese!!).

Colors used: white striping polish, Sally Hansen "Get Juiced," Sally Hansen "Lacey Lilac," Nina Ultra Pro "French White," Sally Hansen "Blue-Away," black striping polish.

Enjoy the summer with this fun and bright mani!!

Blue to Pink OMBRE

Blue to pink ombre
This ombre is beautiful!! Ombre is a very popular technique right now and there are endless color combinations to try! Whether light to dark, or one color to another. Try it, you'll LOVE it :)

Colors used: Essie "Bikini So Teeny," Sinful Colors "Easy Going" (this was my basecoat instead of white), Orly "Winter Wonderland," Orly "Lollipop," and Nina Ultra Pro "Passion Pink."

You use a makeup sponge, and it's an easy one-step process. For a tutorial visit MissJenFABULOUS just fast forward through all the talking, the actual tutorial is really simple!! Most helpful one I've seen.

I got a lot of compliments on this mani... It's funny, sometimes the simple things get the biggest reaction. This is simple, but it definitely pops!

Island Blooms - Vera Bradley Nails

Island Blooms- Vera Bradley Nails

I love this mani inspired by the Vera Bradley print Island Blooms

I used Orly "Green with Envy," Pure Ice "Wild Thing," and a couple striping polishes.

I think the key to VB nails is picking prints that only have a few colors. This one has the primary coat, and two other main colors. It helps the design stand out and not look cluttered.

The pinky and index finger have a glitter stud for some added fun and sparkle. :)

Enjoy!
